Michael Hemphill

Michael Hemphill
Reporter | The Roanoke Times

Michael Hemphill, 28, graduated from Birmingham-Southern College and received a master's degree in creative writing from the University of Southern Mississippi. After an internship with Southern Living magazine in the summer of 1995, Hemphill worked for 1 1/2 years at The Decatur Daily in Decatur, Ala., before becoming a staff writer for The Roanoke Times in June 1997, where he now covers federal courts.
