Frontline Reporting
Guidelines for Families and Managers
October 2004

When journalists are sent to cover conflict and tragedy, it can be a stressful and sometimes lonely experience for partners and families, as well as for those traveling.

The Dart Centre has produced two brochures with guidelines for how to best support the families and partners in these situations.

» "Frontline Reporting: Guidelines for Partners and Families" (link is in PDF format, HTML version is here) A brochure with guidelines to help families and partners discuss together, and cope better with, the anxieties and challenges that come when one is away — especially if the assignment involves violence or tragedy.

» "Frontline Reporting — Partners and Families: Guidelines for Managers and Editors" (link is in PDF format, HTML version is here) A brochure with guidelines to help managers and editors recognise and help deal with the anxieties that employees and their partners may face when one of them is away on a potentially dangerous or traumatic assignment.
