The movie takes you from the playing field to the classrooms, the homes of the players and the offices of the social workers whose attempts to treat the children’s post-traumatic stress are repeatedly thwarted by state budget cuts to mental healthcare.
Jonathan Bullington is a lead investigative reporter and Chicago native who previously worked at the Chicago Tribune before joining NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune as a crime reporter in 2014. His work has earned national and regional journalism honors.
Richard A. Webster is an investigative reporter. He has also written about parental incarceration and its effect on children, how New Orleans criminals obtain guns, and the deaths of inmates at Orleans Parish Prison. He graduated from Villanova University and has been with NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune since 2012.
Brett Duke has been a staff photographer at NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune since 2001, documenting life in communities across south Louisiana. He was part of the team awarded the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for work covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He works with the investigative and environment reporting teams.
Emma Scott is an award-winning video journalist at NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune and is currently a member of the ONA Women's Leadership Accelerator. She received a Masters of Arts in New Media Photojournalism from the Corcoran College of Art + Design and previously worked for Agence France-Presse in Washington, DC.
