Dart Centre Europe invites its network members to a get-together in London. This event is an opportunity to meet other Dart affiliated journalists. The idea is to catch up with folks in our network, to meet people new to Dart and to introduce interested colleagues to our work. Feel free to bring other journalists, film makers, photographers, your colleagues and friends.

We’re really happy to announce that Celeste Hicks is going to join us at the Dart Europe Network Get-Together in London, to talk about her new book:  “The Trial of Hissène Habrè - How the People of Chad Brought a Tyrant to Justice”

Celeste is a freelance journalist who has been writing about Chad and the Sahel for more than ten years. Previously BBC correspondent in Chad and Mali, she worked for BBC World Service African Service in London before becoming an independent journalist in 2011.

Her new book is considered "a story that had to be told, of hell on earth and humanity’s determination to fight back. A wonderful account of a campaign that achieved justice after 25 years.” (Mike Dottridge, former head of AI’s Africa Research Unit)

There will be a Q&A following Celeste’s talk and after that there will be time to socialise, catch up and meet new Dart Centre affiliates.
