Elissa Castles

Elissa Castles is the Communications Associate for the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma. She’s a recent graduate of Columbia Journalism School where she earned her Masters with honors in May of 2023. Besides working with the Dart Center, she is also a freelance audio journalist making podcasts and small stories about the world around us. She also was the Producer on a short documentary called Shelter in Place for “The New Yorker”. She’s originally from Austin, Texas and has been living in New York City for the last 12 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin where she studied theatre.
